First off, I don't think I could possibly say enough good things about this amazing wonderful woman! She is a fellow kick-ass eco girl as well as a vegan. Her etsy shop is adorable and no two pieces are exactly the same. Her classic "Vegan" graphic is beautiful and classy with a modern touch that is perfect for anyone and everyone. Plus you can find anything from tops to pants to hoodies to dresses to adorable wristbands! 

As if this wonderful woman and her shop weren't amazing enough, her shop is not for profit purposes! The point of the shop is to help Earth and its fellow inhabitants with proceeds going to support several charities like Ocean Conservancy, Humane Society, Nature Conservancy, Savethechildren.org, and more!

Now, before I go on to my little interview with Linh La, I would like you to see for yourself just how fun and positive and inspiring this woman is! Tell us a bit about yourself.

LL: (Pause for 172.6 seconds) . . . 

Well. Type A Personality. Lover. Vegan. Cancer Sign. Designer. Ego-Slasher. Asian. Meditator. Traveler. ESFJ. Seeker. Sinner. Student.  Evolving Being.

Now, take a little bit of each, and you have me! Vwah-La! 

How did Love Peace Vegan come to be?

LL: I was scouring the internet for shirts with Vegan Graphics that matched my aesthetic and I could not find it. So finally, one day, I made one. I wore them everyday and a stranger of a lady suggested, I should sell them. LIGHT BULB! My friend Galaxie introduced me to Etsy and here it is! 

How long have you been vegan and what started your cruelty-free lifestyle? 

LL: I was Vegetarian for about 17 years and then Vegan for over 4 years now. My body told me to: I was 7 years old and my stomach suddenly had these major pains and I could not eat anything. I was in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights. The funny thing is they could not find a reason. My mom was a vegetarian for about a month. When I came out of the hospital, I distinctly asked my mom to become a veg-head. I never turned back since. Even when I was starting to eat food as a baby, I would chew the meat forever and then spit it out. I don't think I was ever meant to eat it.  

What other projects are you currently working on or a part of? 

LL: I am the creative director of all the Loving Huts in the USA where I work with the interior and graphic design (www.lovinghut.us). 

I do freelance work and photography with "Linh La Design & Consultation". (www.linhla.com)

My mom and I own a Loving Hut Vegan Restaurant.

How do you spend your time when you're not saving the world?

LL: Relaxation. Meditation. Dance. Design. Laughing. Trying to find enlightenment in every corner. 

One thing you can't live without?

LL: Aw man. My computer. It connects me with the world-wide-web, allows me to design, and is just marvelous!

Best piece of advice for life in general?

 LL: My favorite quote that I am living by: "“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” Edward Everett

I think human beings are spectacular creations. We are so powerful, but I think we are afraid of that power or not willing to let it reach its full potential. With my eyes, hands, and feet, I will try to do everything that I am able to do. I am just one person, but my quality of a person will make a difference in this world as long as I am here! Tell us a bit about your work.

I love to take a drawing from my sketchbook and transform it into an object: A simple charm necklace, fun glass cartoon earrings, colorful enamels, wall prints, or greeting cards. I'm all over the board..I love simple and modern one day, cute and colorful the next. Whatever the final product, I use my experience as a metalsmith and enamelist along with my passion for design and color to create a piece that I hope you will treasure forever.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find my inspiration in the art world. I love looking at paintings and drawings and have a really wide taste in what grabs my interest. I love watching the art unfold from the hands of painters like Yoshitomo Nara http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoshitomo_Nara but I am also inspired by painters like Richard Diebenkorn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Diebenkorn. That's a pretty wide range!

What is your favorite item you have ever made?

If you had all the money in the world, what handmade item would you buy?

 I lived in a tent on the beach in Alaska one summer and had a job pulling fish guts out of salmon. So gross and so many weird dreams.

How did Go Max Go Foods come to be?

Well, we were seriously tired of not having any great vegan candy bars! We are a loving family (Sasha and Veronika) and a company (Herbolution) who are conscious about current state of The Planet which directly affects our health and well-being. After long searches for a healthy and natural personal care products we came to a conclusion that many companies that try to take good care of their customers take very little care of the Earth and visa verse. So we decided to combine the two goods while putting more accent on really natural and chemical-free craftsmanship of products that are used for enhancement of health and well-being of the body and soul as well as home environment.

How did Herbolution come to be?

The idea of making really natural personal care products came to our minds after we stepped onto a path of healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle. Our knowledge of herbs plus young, fresh and passionate drive to "change the world" gave birth to Herbolution - an alternative to commonly used personal care products or even sometimes fake "natural" options from big corporations. Our path is fresh, narrow and steep, but Herbolution is strong in its beliefs and is confident in eco- and health consciousness of present and future customers.

Where do you find inspiration?

Permaculture certification course that we took several years ago went deep into affects of human activity on Nature and Environment in general and provided smart solution to create a “permanent” ever-growing culture replacing the current regressive culture that destroys itself and life around us.

“Only 8 percent of the total plastic waste generated in 2010 was recovered for recycling.“

This means that 92 out of a 100 of plastic bottles or containers or bags go to environment to pollute for hundreds of years our air, oceans and soil. We at Herbolution do our best to offer our products in plastic-free containers (currently 85% of all our products are plastic-free) and ship all orders in 100% biodegradable packaging.

Best piece of advice for life in general?

Remember that we depend on harmony of life on the Planet and should appreciate all Nature as much as a child appreciates his parents as he depends on them so greatly.

♥ Vegan T-Shirt Contest Giveaway!!! ♥

Soooo, today is two special days combined into one and I cannot believe how accidental and awesome this was...

Today is "Vegan T-Shirt Day!" 

I'm wearing this awesome shirt that I bought (and altered) at Farm Sanctuary during my NY visit. Cute right? :)

And in honour of "Vegan T-Shirt Day" I decided that I am going to have a little contest, giveaway fun for you all. It just so accidentally happened that the prize is going to be a "V for Vegan" shirt I made... And today is the 5th of November! 

You know?...

V for Vendetta also just so happens to be my favourite movie ever! And I find it incredibly relevant and inspiring with all the "Occupy" Movements going on. 

Anyway, excuse my excitement over this fun coincidence.

All you have to do is Wear a "Vegan T-Shirt" today, take a picture and share it on this post! That's it!
