Mar Mar reminds me of childhood and adulthood magically combined as one. The shop is filled with adorable yet beautifully modern jewelry featuring fun little characters of all sorts. The items are delicate and fun--a beautiful combination, again, of that playful child inside of us often with a mature sophisticated flare. You will find a beautiful array of glass bead jewelry, as well as metal work with detailed sterling silver characters, and for the more playful there are unique and colourful screen-printed glass pieces. There is something here for everyone and is certainly a lovely shop to snoop around in and fall in love with.

Tell us a bit about your work.
I love to take a drawing from my sketchbook and transform it into an object: A simple charm necklace, fun glass cartoon earrings, colorful enamels, wall prints, or greeting cards. I'm all over the board..I love simple and modern one day, cute and colorful the next. Whatever the final product, I use my experience as a metalsmith and enamelist along with my passion for design and color to create a piece that I hope you will treasure forever.
Where do you find your inspiration?
What is your favorite item you have ever made?
If you had all the money in the world, what handmade item would you buy?
Random fact?
I lived in a tent on the beach in Alaska one summer and had a job pulling fish guts out of salmon. So gross and so many weird dreams.
Best piece of advice for life in general?
Find a partner that makes you laugh! And make them laugh back.
