Extensions are fun for a girl who doesn't want to dye or damage her own hair, dreadlock extensions are extra fun for a girl that loves to change up hairstyles but doesn't want to cut her own hair. Yes, I'm explaining my personal love for extensions. It has been a long time since I've dyed or done anything spectacular directly to my own head (as any of my regular readers will know), so I rely on extensions to add the splash of colour and the playfulness back to my hair. 

In my years of fashion fun, I have used plenty of dreadlock extensions to add that whimsical and earthy, fun and "hippie" look I often love. I have had everything from just a few colourful dreadlocks to a full head of extensions of varying colours and varying brands. Amongst those, Iconic Locks has been my favourite to date. My search for my latest desire (a set of turquoise and blue) led me to searching through etsy once more. When I found Iconic Locks, I instantly fell in love. 

First I will say, oh the colours! I love a shop that has variety and diversity and catches my eye and presents their products well. The colour selection is nothing short of outstanding. I also love the customer gallery on their Facebook page that displays the fun different extensions; it helps to get a comparison with different skin tones and colour combinations, not to mention inspiration to make your final decision in your own dreadlock selection. 

Next, I will say the quality--which is certainly more important than just colour options--is absolutely perfect. The size and texture of the dreadlocks are perfect, thick but lightweight, with great movement, and are incredibly realistic. This is a huge requirement for me in good dreadlock extensions; you don't want your dreadlocks to look fake or badly made, otherwise it looks simply awful and you've wasted your money. It is absolutely worth paying the money for good extensions, through and through. Dreadlocks are more than just an accessory (unless you are wearing a dread fall), they are braided into your hair or added to the end of real dreadlocks, so you want them to look fabulous and realistic, not tacky and cheap. Do it right, that is certainly some good advice when choosing dreadlock extensions, especially when there is such a large variety to choose from on the internet. Another obvious reason I love and recommend Iconic Locks is that I love love supporting small business owners and creative individuals. The heart and work that goes into making such beautiful wearable art should be appreciated, and certainly adds to the overall satisfaction and enjoyment of wearing such awesome products. Someone poured their heart and soul into that work! How amazing is that? 

You can order your Iconic Locks in a variety of lengths and colours, and Katherine, who runs the shop and makes the lovely items, is incredibly helpful. She helped me ever so patiently pick out exactly what I desired and was very friendly about it.   

This also may seem silly, but I love that Iconic Locks is based out of Portland--the city is such an artistic and inspiring place that I love to visit, and therefore I feel like the beautiful skill and creativity of the dreadlocks at Iconic Locks is a perfect depiction of this artistic scene. 

Overall satisfaction with my set of dreadlocks from Iconic Locks is absolute perfection. It's nice having a great quality shop to turn to. So check out the shop, get yourself a pair for any number of fun reasons (including festival season upon us!).

♥ Crinoline Shop; Tofu Plush Toys and more! ♥

Meet Crinoline, an adorable etsy shop filled with the cutest plush toys ever handmade by the lovely Jamie! Hosting a collection of quirky, colourful, crafty handmade goodness, the main attraction, in my opinion, is that most of the shop is filled with Food! Yup, Food! Well, don't eat them, they're for decoration ;) but they are super adorable and unique and fantastic. My favourites, of course, are the adorable Tofu characters! I mean, just take a look; one with glasses, another with a mustache, another with a bow, cat ears, mouse ears, how adorable??!!   

Not only is this shop overwhelmingly adorable, but all items are also created with Ecofi felt made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. This also makes them all wool-free (excited "eeeek!" for vegans)! And you know how excited I get over eco vegan goodies, so extra outbursts of joy here! The eco-friendliness doesn't end there though, where some shops fail with the other details, the lovely Crinoline Shop does not. The faces are carefully hand painted with Delta brand Soy Paint, and they are stuffed with Nature-Fil, a mix of 50% rayon fiber made from bamboo and 50% premium polyester fiber. 

The plush items are beautifully handcrafted, with attention to the sweet little details of each character. While they are not meant to be as toys for children or animals, they are awesome for us adults and plush collectors. I mean, come on, what vegan or veg-head doesn't want an adorable Tofu guy? ;) I imagine these would be super cute in a kids room for decoration as well. 

Crinoline doesn't just have cute veggies and tofu plush characters, if you're lucky enough to catch Jamie at a craft fair you get the full array of adorable owls, sugar skulls, dolls, and more!   

Plus because they are all handmade, not two are exactly the same. Gotta love handmade! :)

♥ Thunderpants: Eco Undies! ♥

Eco-friendly has a bad tendency to sacrifice awesome looks. I don't know why, but it's a little bit annoying. However, it does lead me to find and stumble across those amazing treasures to get excited about when you do find a shop that is everything you could possibly dream for and more. Meet Thunderpants! 

The most fantastic Organic Undies for women, men, kids, and babies! And yes, they have one hella kick-ass name too! 

And with a name like Thunderpants you know you're in for something awesome. Thunderpants attribute their awesomeness to three "secret" ingredients: cut, fabric, and prints. 

The cut of their underwear is beautiful, without elastic and bulky lines to show through your pants. They also fit like a dream and are super super comfy. I find myself wanting to prance around in mine all day long, you know, doing what I usually do and dance around my living room singing to loud music... 

Thunderpants fabrics are knitted in New Zealand to their specifications to give the perfect amount of comfort and just the right amount of stretch. Since 2010 they also made the eco switch to all certified organic cotton fabrics. Hoorah!    

Lastly, the prints! Oh the prints! Not only are they super fantastic and fun, but they are also dyed and printed right in New Zealand. With prints like "space invaders" (my personal favourite), "sky owls" and a host of other beautiful prints, they are perfect for everyone! 

Thunderpants also offer a few different styles of underwear, camis, and swim and activewear. And, in case you missed it, there's something for the whole family, with a complete men's, women's, and kids line! So the whole family can be fun fun fun! ;)

I am also going to praise how easy and fun (am I using this word too much yet? ;)) their website is. They make shopping a thrilling experience that entices the shopper all over the site with a big excited grin on their faces. With fantastic ethics, style, and upbeat attitudes, what's not to love?

Layers of dry roasted peanuts, buttery-tasting caramel, and a rich peanut nougat, sweetly wrapped in a delicious chocolatey coating! Can you say heaven?! 

Bucaneer

Rich, fluffy, chocolatey nougat covered in a creamy chocolatey coating. Simple, delicious, far from boring… can I have more please? 

Twilight

There aren't any twinkling vampires here, but there sure is a whole lot of magic! Take that lovely rich, fluffy, chocolatey nougat of the Buccaneer bar and top that with a layer of thick, buttery-tasting caramel all wrapped up in that heavenly creamy, rice-milk chocolatey coating. You'll quickly be on Team Go Max Go Foods! ;) 

It's hard to pick a favourite when you have so many indulgent options to choose from. But the Cleo's, Snaps, and Twilight bars were definitely irrestible… then again, I ate all of these bars in… well I'm a little too embarrassed to share how quickly I gobbled them up… hey! It was for review purposes… to share with you… shhhhh… 

One more thing I'd like to share is the story to their curious name, because if you are a regular ReLove Plan.et reader then you will appreciate it… The name "Max" is a tribute to their pound puppy who for sixteen years taught them "through action that life should be about big love, having fun at every opportunity, and not worrying about tripping when you're chasing after your dream." Beautiful no? :)
