❀ The Good News ❀

. . . . . . . . . .
Stop watching the News on T.V. filled with lies, propaganda, and made to make you feel helpless and afraid.

With all the negative news in the world, it's time to give you hope and inspiration. It's time to the weekly Good News!
. . . . . . . . . .

Lots of good news for animals this week!!! :)

Victory! NIH to Retire Most Research Chimps
In a huge victory for chimpanzees being used in research, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has formally announced that it will be retiring most of the chimps it owns or funds. And will be sending about 310 federally-owned chimpanzees currently imprisoned in laboratories to sanctuaries!
The announcement means that hundreds of chimpanzees will now be allowed to live free from harm, after what has been decades in labs for some, and follows years of campaigning by animal advocacy organizations and caring members of the public who have spoken out on their behalf. More than 12,500 public comments were submitted to the NIH, while a Care2 petition asking the NIH’s Director Francis Collins to retire chimps gathered more than 21,000 signatures.

India to Ban Animals to Test Cosmetics!
In another huge victory for animals in laboratories, India has announced that it will implement a ban on using animals to test cosmetics! After an extensive campaign by PETA—which included appeals from high-profile politicians and multinational retailers such as LUSH and The Body Shop as well as lengthy discussions with PETA India's scientists—the drug controller general of India announced that testing cosmetics and their ingredients on animals will not be permitted in India.
This announcement comes on the heels of recently enacted bans on cosmetics testing on animals in the European Union and in Israel.

Djala The Silver-Back Gorilla Is Going Home
Djala, a gorilla rescued from Gabon after his parents were killed for bushmeat, is on his way home.
The 440lb silverback left the Wild Animal Park in Kent, UK, last Sunday and is traveling more than 5,000 miles back to Batéké Plateau National Park in his native Gabon, West Africa. He was accompanied by four female mates and their four infants, between eight months and six years old. (He also has another 11 children.)
Djala was saved over 30 years ago by a French helicopter pilot who spotted a group of children playing with the orphan. He was taken to Libreville, the capital of Gabon, where he was raised by a Frenchwoman who looked after him in her garden. Eventually he got too big for the garden, and so she turned to the Aspinall Foundation for help.
Conservationist Damian Aspinall has had Djala under the care of the Foundation ever since. This journey is part of the Aspinall Foundation’s Back To The Wild campaign.
How inspiring to read about a program at a wild animal park that has the goal of returning animals to the wild! Remember that zoos are not real, or even close, conservation work, so do not go to them!

New York Creates First-Ever Animal Abuser Registry
In a first, the New York Senate has passed a bill that would require that convicted animal abusers — just like convicted sex offenders — register as such with the division of criminal justice services. Even more, those who have been convicted of abusing and torturing animals would also have to undergo a required psychiatric evaluation and would be banned from ever owning pets again.
Under the bill, the names and addresses of convicted animal abuses in New York would be made readily accessible to the public. Those involved in the sale and adoption of animals would be able to check the registry before allowing someone to own an animal. This new bill will protect animals from repeat animal abusers.

Wildlife Trafficking Takes a Hit After Unprecedented U.S. Action

President Obama has made another unprecedented move this week by signing an executive order to combat wildlife trafficking that is threatening endangered species and perpetuating organized crime.

The president launched the crackdown during his visit to Tanzania earlier this week, which brings hope for species whose populations are suffering from the effects of the recent surge in poaching that is estimated to be a billion dollar industry and is now being considered both a global crisis and a security threat.

The order allocates $10 million in State Department funds to fight the illegal trade and promises to assist foreign governments with anti-trafficking activities, in addition to making an effort to reduce the demand domestically and abroad.

It also pledges to establish a Presidential Task Force on Wildlife Trafficking composed of the State, Interior and Justice departments to develop strategies to combat wildlife trafficking and an Advisory Council on Wildlife Trafficking that will make recommendations and assist the task force. The Transnational Organized Crime Strategy will also now be considering whether to add wildlife trafficking to the list of crimes it covers, putting it on the same level as arms and human trafficking.

Tasmania Gives the Thumbs Up to Gay Adoption
Last week was a big one for gay and lesbian couples. The Supreme Court in the United States invalidated part of DOMA and cleared the way for California to recognize marriages of same sex couples. And now the Australian state of Tasmania has given the thumbs up to same-sex couples who want to adopt.
The new law, just passed by the Upper House, allows any couple registered under the Relationship Act – basically their domestic partnership law – to adopt children. It was supported by all but three MPs.
This is a pretty big deal, especially when you realize that Tasmania was the last Australian state to decriminalize homosexuality in the 1990s.

☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

. . . . . . . . . .

We're taking back Mondays!!!
"Motivational Mondays" are fabulous tips to get you excited and pumped for the week!
Feeling low? Moody? Down on life? Well, that's what these posts are for! Time to feel awesome again and get some Positivity rolling! Just because it's Monday doesn't mean you can't have fun, smile, and enjoy Today! Apply these tips to your week and try to tell me that you don't start to see an improvement in your life! ;)
It's all about You! Change your perception, change your attitude, love your life! xo

. . . . . . . . . .

☺ Law of Attraction Tip: If you're having a hard time manifesting, focus less on the "what" (you're trying to manifest) and more on raising your vibration. Feeling good is the first and most important step. If you don't feel good then you won't be able to attract good things. Like attracts like!
☺ Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. It's easy to get hot-tempered or irritated and lash out when we are attacked, or even feel attacked, or when someone is being not so nice towards us. Sometimes silence is the best answer. Why? Because there is no point in engaging in a fight with someone, because that only validates their behaviour and gives them the response that they were looking for-- those people are usually looking for a fight. The other reason silence is wise is because it gives you a chance to register, to think, and consider whether responding is a good idea and if it is how To respond appropriately. Take a breather, give yourself time to think; and if you still feel it's worth answering Then go do so but with a steady head on your shoulders.
☺ Be Yourself…  and don't care what others say behind your back (or to your face). Keep in mind that when people talk badly about you, it's usually because they are envious--so I know it sounds hard, but try to take it as a compliment, or at the very least remember that only miserable people choose to be mean to others. Stay confident in who you are and keep on loving yourself! Cuz you're awesome!!!
☺ Daily Gratitude Practice! (This tip is thanks to the lovely Sarah of Pretty You and Me Jewelry) Choose a friend and make it a new habit to exchange your 10 things your grateful for via text to eachother daily. If you don't text then do this by email, Facebook, etc. but be sure to do it daily! :)
☺ Move on to the Next Chapter!  It can be difficult to stay positive when you have a bad day, but just remember that one day day doesn't mean you have a bad life. Keep on moving and keep on smiling! Turn the page and start your next chapter.
☺ Share your wealth! Whatever that might be. For us, our garden has been bursting with lovely lovely greens, an abundance. We are so happy to be able to share the abundance with our friends and neighbours. Sharing is good for the soul, puts a smile on others' faces, and is good karma--because the more you focus on abundance, the more of an abundance you will have! So share the wealth, no matter how little or small!
☺  "Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity." ~W. Clement Stone

Don't forget to Create a Nice Day! To keep smiling, laughing, and spending time on joy!
Much love from me to you!

{life reflections}

. . . . . . . . . .
{life reflections}
Weekly thoughts and rambles. A glimpse into my mind and world.
These are entries that I might jot down in my Happy Diary; what happens when we put our fingers to the keyboard and allow our thoughts to flow uninhibited. Reflections from the soul.
Reflections of life.

I hope to leave you inspired.
If you want to share your own reflections of the week please leave a link to your "life reflections" entry in the comments for all to find and see.
. . . . . . . . . .

I feel as if I've been talking a lot lately about the roller coaster of life; the ups and downs that can feel so extreme and so sporadic, as if the little gentle stream of life has now turned into a gushing tumbling river, plunging under and popping us high high back to the top. Maybe there's something in the air, it just seems like a lot of people I know, and myself included, have been experiencing much higher turbulence than usual. I would also like to think this has something to do with the shift of awakening within so many of us--so many people "waking up." It is a double-sided blessing: when we work on ourselves we allow ourselves to experience and draw out issues and problems that may have been rather deeply buried, therefore things may feel worse before they get better because we need to work through those issues before we can move forwards to the space of walking on rainbows while it sprinkles gumdrops.
Ah life. It truly truly truly is a beautiful thing, it's just such a shame that we've been conditioned to believe that life is suffering, that life is hard work, that life sucks. Think about how many brain patterns we have formed during our upbringing to make us feel badly about ourselves, to make us feel that life is no fun, to make us believe that materialism and money are the only forms of happiness, to make us believe that our happiness depends on things outside of ourselves, and to make us believe that happiness is a farfetched myth that we could never achieve.
When things get tough I think it's important to reflect on how far you've come. See, sometimes it may feel as if we haven't changed, as if we haven't gotten any happier in our lives, but this is when it's good to look back at where you were when you started. For me, I used to cut, I had plenty of suicidal thoughts, and being sad was just a daily part of my life. If I look at my life now, even when I have bad days, or moments of frustration where I don't feel as if I've gotten anywhere, it's pretty easy to see that I have. I no longer cut, I am no longer "depressed," I just have moments of relapse and real human emotions. Feeling bad, sad, down, frustrated, and so forth, aren't signs that you haven't gotten anywhere or that you're not, at the core of you, happy, it's just a reminder that we are all still human and we all still feel. Feeling is great, it's just our attachment to not letting go of negative emotions that is a problem. That, and that our minds tend to over-think things and create problems that aren't even there. We are all human, we are allowed to feel, we should feel. Ups and downs are a part of life, our holding onto the ups and downs are the part that we need to adjust so that the flow of life is much smoother and enjoyable. Let emotions flow and then let them go.
Whenever in doubt, just think about how far you've come. Remind yourself that you're human and that life will always have ups and downs. Learn to enjoy the ride. Make the most of every situation and of ever circumstance or opportunity. Try to think positive, try to work on yourself. And don't beat yourself up along the way. Just do your best! And remember to smile. ;)
I want to talk about two things this week in greater depths: the emotional guidance system; and first steps to working through depression. Two topics that I've been thinking a lot about lately that I have a lot I'd like to say and share.
Our life experiences are gifts that we can share with others and that goodness has the domino effect of spreading to others. It's truly a wonderful thing. If you've learned something about life that makes things easier than share it with friends and family or a stranger. Spread the goodness because if it works for them then they too will pass on that knowledge to those around them. If people don't take your advice then at least you tried, no harm done.
Keep smiling, trying, and loving life. And remember; JUST DO YOUR BEST!
^_^ Much Love!

The people that are meant to be in your life will always be there and those that aren't will be removed by the Universe. ☀ Talk, talk, talk through your problems, communicate or you'll never learn and grow and have realizations! ☀ Everyone is going through something so be understanding and forgiving. ☀ You are what you eat; so don't eat crappy foods! ☀ When you stop worrying about things then you finally receive what you want and everything is much easier, so try to be as happy as possible; that is where your attention needs to be to receive good things in your life! ☀

Hope you're all having a beautiful wonderful blissful week! Tell me about your lovely weeks! Tell me about your 'Smile Up' and 'this moment!' Pretty please? :)
