☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

. . . . . . . . . .

We're taking back Mondays!!!
"Motivational Mondays" are fabulous tips to get you excited and pumped for the week!
Feeling low? Moody? Down on life? Well, that's what these posts are for! Time to feel awesome again and get some Positivity rolling! Just because it's Monday doesn't mean you can't have fun, smile, and enjoy Today! Apply these tips to your week and try to tell me that you don't start to see an improvement in your life! ;)
It's all about You! Change your perception, change your attitude, love your life! xo

. . . . . . . . . .

☺ Law of Attraction tip: The more you talk about something, the more you are inviting into your life. This can be used for good when we're conscious of it, bad if we choose to ignore it. If you are constantly talking about being sick, being depressed, not having money, etc. then you will invite more of that into your life. If you talk more about your joys then you will invite more joys into your life and healing and the world will be better. ;)
☺ Be direct with people. This is all about learning to stick up for yourself and speaking up. While I generally promote saying yes to things, there is a balance so learn to fight the urge to say yes to everyone all the time. It’s okay to say no in a nice way. You’ll lose friends if you agree to do something and then just hope it fades away or they forget. Just be honest now and avoid the guilt later.
☺ Be Spontaneous! Have you done anything spontaneous lately? Our friends visited last week and we went for a midnight swim in the lake--it was hella fun. Spontaneity is so fun, so go for it, say yes ;) and step out of your comfort zone this week.
☺ Sleep in. Admittedly, I rarely sleep in. I'm usually perfect on 7 hours of sleep and I'm awake and ready to go. However, some weeks are draining (especially with hot weather, or cold weather, or rainy days, or work days, or…) so sleep helps restore our balance and puts our minds and bodies at much needed rest. Take a few nights this week and have a good long deep sleep in. Try to remove anything that might interrupt that sleep; loud noises (wear earplugs, alarms, pets, etc.). Don't sleep in every day though, you should be well rested but sleeping in too much can be just as draining as not getting enough sleep.
☺ You are responsible for your own happiness. Yes yes, this one I say all the time, but it's absolutely true. You Choose your Happiness! Stop blaming everyone and everything else if you aren’t there yet. And don't get discouraged if you aren't there yet either; trying means progress, complaining means taking steps backwards. If you're not there yet, Fix it. No one owes you anything. And never compare your happiness to someone else's, we're all at different stages and you never know what's going on beneath the surface of another person's life.
☺ Embrace your Passions! Life is too short not to take time every day (or as often as possible for you) to obsess over your passions. Make it work, rearrange your schedule or habits so that you have that time for yourself and your joys. Take time for your passions and let them be the beat of your heart.
☺ "If you look out over an ocean, you will see a seemingly infinite number of waves rippling across the horizon. If you were to visit the ocean floor, however, you would experience a vast, uninterrupted stillness. By going beyond our thoughts, we access the underlying field of silence that lies within." - Eat. Taste. Heal.

Don't forget to Create a Nice Day! To keep smiling, laughing, and spending time on joy!
Much love from me to you!

Lessons of the week:
Sticking up for yourself is always best, even when people try to turn it around back at you. Stick up for yourself anyway! ☀ Talk! So you can feel better and reach some resolve ☀ Listen to your heart--not the excuses you make up in your head. ☀ Choose wisely the friends you want to tell your deepest secrets--and be grateful for the amazing friends in your life that you can trust. ☀ I say this one again: sometimes people are meant to leave your life, move on and accept that you're on different paths. Be grateful for the good times and release the rest ☀ Accept yourself as you are and remember that you Are a Good Person. ☀

Hope you're all having a beautiful wonderful blissful week!
What are you grateful for this week? :)

☺ Do more of what makes you Happy! This week I want you to spend more time on joy! This means working less, and taking a little time out of the day to really focus on the hobbies and things and events that make you truly happy, that truly enrich your day, that bring a smile and bring about that joy in your life. Try to fit in as much of that time as possible. Most of your day should be doing what makes you happy, so if it's not, maybe it's time to change some things?
☺ Change your Life! Okay, so there's no magic genie, or snap of your fingers that can instantly change you life around, but you can start taking small steps. The first step is to recognize what brings you joy and what doesn't. Take some time to imagine what your ideal day and your ideal life would be like. Write it down. And then read this list every day this week (and beyond). Take some time with it, picture yourself in that life, imagine how it feels, get deep into those emotions of believing. This is an awesome Law of Attraction practice and can truly make some magical things come into your life!
☺ Receive Compliments--don't dismiss them! A lovely fellow ReLover sent me this article and I'm so glad that she did because it's wonderful and I decided that I simply could not pass up the opportunity to pass it along to you. It talks about the power of receiving compliments and that we should accept them instead of shying away or dismissing them. Work on accepting compliments, and do read the full article, it's fantastic!  http://justinemusk.com/2013/07/09/the-secret-power-of-receiving-how-to-take-a-compliment/
☺ Be Confident with Who You Are. And don't let anyone ever make you doubt yourself. You are wonderful and perfect just as you are so stop trying to shape yourself into something someone else wants you to be, or what you feel like you should be. The more you accept your awesomeness, the more you'll really get to know yourself and discover who you really are and truly embrace who you are. And then you will be become more confident as well.
☺ Be a Good Friend… the sort of friend who tells someone if they have something stuck in their teeth, or their makeup as smeared. It's funny that we feel uncomfortable with telling another person these things, while that person is the one that ends up being embarrassed. Spare them the embarrassment and tell them straight up. Be a good friend. ;)
☺ Try Meditating! Admittedly, I am a terrible meditator because I simply don't take the time to do it. Try to get into this new practice first thing in the morning, or right before bed, or whenever your mind feels too busy. It's a great practice to give your mind and thoughts a rest. Find some inner calm and peace.

Don't forget to Create a Nice Day! To keep smiling, laughing, and spending time on joy!
Much love from me to you!

Ⓥ Vegan Kitchen: Vegan Creamy Pasta Sauce Ⓥ

This recipe is super quick and simple to whip together. It's delicious and creamy and packed full of flavour. For the vegan-taste skeptics, no one will ever guess it's vegan. ;)

Vegan Creamy Pasta Sauce

1 pound Brown Rice spiral Pasta (or pasta of your choice)

1 head Broccoli (about 1 pound), cut into small florets

2 cups plain unsweetened Soy Milk (or other non-dairy milk)
1/2 cup Vegetable Broth
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
3 cloves Garlic, peeled and pressed
1 tbsp dried Basil
2 tps dried Oregano
1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder (or to taste--optional, but it adds a nice flavour and kick)
dash of Black Pepper
1/2- 1 tsp Salt, to taste.
1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
2 tbsp Tapioca Flour (potato or corn starch would work as well, or even any flour)

Other optional add-ins:
Chickpeas
Cauliflower, Zucchini, spinach, or other veggies

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, and cook the pasta according to instructions on package.
While the pasta is cooking, steam your veggies.
While those are both cooking, make your sauce:
Combine in a medium saucepan the soy milk, garlic, herbs and spices, and pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, reduce heat to low, and cook, stirring frequently, for about 3 minutes. Add the tapioca starch, and stir thoroughly. Increase heat a little and cook until the sauce boils and thickens slightly, stirring every so often. Add more water if needed. Taste-test to see if it needs more salt or pepper.
Pour the sauce over the pasta and vegetables and stir gently to coat. If the pasta needs more moisture, add a little of reserved pasta water (from the water it was cooking in).
Serve immediately.
Makes approx. 4 servings.
