{life reflections}

. . . . . . . . . .
{life reflections}
Weekly thoughts and rambles. A glimpse into my mind and world.
These are entries that I might jot down in my Happy Diary; what happens when we put our fingers to the keyboard and allow our thoughts to flow uninhibited. Reflections from the soul.
Reflections of life.

I hope to leave you inspired.
If you want to share your own reflections of the week please leave a link to your "life reflections" entry in the comments.
. . . . . . . . . .

You won't appreciate the sun without the rain. In this moment the outside world is doing both. On the emotional level of life perhaps it's always doing both. I mean think about it for a moment. In a single day we can experience such ups and downs in a matter of seconds apart. As if to remind us to breathe, to take a look around, to see that the world around us is a roller coaster of emotions and events and people all spinning around us at unpredictable speeds. It is true though. We can't appreciate the sun without a little rain. Getting stuck in the mud is the problem. Even though we can still look up to the skies and smile when the rays of sunshine do come along, inevitably we're still stuck in the mud. However getting out of the mud at our feet is as simple as taking one step. And then another. And another. Until the mud has dried from our feet and we can feel the warmth of the sun resonate through every fibre of our being.
Have I lost you? I think I lost myself a little. But isn't that also part of life? Finding and rediscovering ourselves? ;)
Anyways. You can't have the good without a little sprinkle of bad. But we must keep moving and let the rolling ventures of our lives continue on, leading us to new heights and emotions and experiences. Such is life. Beautiful wonder-filled life.
We must learn to become bendy. Yes, bendy. To life that is… although flexibility is also great for your body. ;) Adaptability to what life hands you, learning to go with the flow, to not resist, to welcome good things into your life and releasing the bad. To focus on the good. Always seeing and seeking the positive in any experience. And to love yourself. These are keys to life. The keys that will make all the other lessons easier to learn and all the tribulations easier to overcome.
The road can be bumpy and applying these lessons may take time, but they should always be there for you to turn to, like a cheat sheet of life. What a wonderful cheat sheet. I wish they taught us things like this in school. Can you imagine what sort of brilliant world we would live in if they did?

[Anna Hrachovec]

Anyways. I'm like anyone, experiencing the ups and downs of life, applying the lessons, moving forward. I'm no superhuman. I fall down. Sometimes it's just a trip. Sometimes I fall down and stay down for a while wallowing in the cycle of self pity until I choose to pull myself out. Because it's always a choice. But despite the downward spirals there is something that is always reassuring to me. Simply look at how far you've come. This is what I do. I was a suicidal, self-harming, depressed girl for a long time. Today, even with the lows of life, I am strong and positive and always find a way to climb back up. You just have to be willing to put yourself into a positive place, to push your way out of the dark tunnels. You have to be willing to accept that you Deserve good in your life. And you have to be willing to make it happen. It's so much easier to wallow in self pity because it's practically been taught to us through insecure society and life. It takes work and determination to wake up in the morning and say "Today is going to be awesome!" and then go out and keep that mentality. But practice makes perfect and, by golly, is it ever worth giving yourself daily pep talks to reach a state of bliss and happiness. Abolishing words like "I can't" or telling yourself that a particular kind of life isn't possible for you. It's bullshit talk, that's what it is. It's self-defeating, self-pitying attitudes that will get you no where. You have a choice, every single second of every single day and I want you to stop putting yourself down. Because you deserve and CAN stand up and be awesome and blissfully happy. You can, you can, you can. Oh yes you can. So go do it. Now.

☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

Gooooo Monday! Hope you've all had a beautiful weekend and are continuing the magic throughout the rest of the week! Hope you all had a fun Earth Day as well and keep that going through the week! Remember how you treat the Earth is how you should treat yourself--which is awesome, all the time! Ah wait, hold on now...

Treat Everything with Respect! You should treat yourself with absolute love and respect at all times, no self put-downs, no negative thoughts towards yourself, just pure love. If you treat yourself with love then you will find that love flowing over into all other aspects of your life. You will start to treat the Earth with love and respect. You will start to treat animals with love and respect. You will start to treat other People with love and respect. In this sense your own attitude towards all other things around you is usually a pretty good representation of how you truly feel about yourself. So welcome love into your life, starting by loving You!
Make all month Earth Month! Hoping you all had a lovely Earth Day yesterday, and just like with Earth Hour, let's keep the momentum going all month long! See how many things in your life you can change to more eco-friendly options--there are always new things to do so have fun with it! And inspire others to do the same!
Ditch Paper! Speaking of Earth Day, let's start with this… The average U.S. household receives 6 pieces of junk mail every day, 44% of that usually ends up in the landfill unopened! Take the steps to reduce your paper where you can. Get your bills sent through email instead of on paper in the mail. Make sure your providers and services don't send you letters in the mail. Place a "no junk mail" sign on your mailbox. Reduce reduce… and recycle of course! ;)
Do something absolutely spontaneous! Every day this week! I'm talking absolutely silly, ridiculous, fun spontaneity. Anything goes! And tell me about what you did! I want to know! ;)
Clear out your closet! I love doing this every so often and spring is the perfect time to do it! For some reason I find it cleansing, it's nice to clear out old things, especially when you realize when things have been sitting in your wardrobe not being worn. Go through your things and see what you think it worth keeping, donating, or selling! Some thrift stores will give you money for your items so why not find out! Better yet, plan a clothes swap with some friends and anything that doesn't get claimed donate to your local thrift stores.

☺ Join the Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows!!! I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. This video totally made my day when I first saw it and continues to put a smile on my face any time I watch it. Although, warning, you may get the song stuck in your head and start prancing around in your day to day activities. ;)

Have a beautiful day, week, life! Much Love from me to you!
Create a Nice Day! xo

☺ Filling your Life with Unicorns! ☺

What we're really doing here is getting back to the basics of a four-year-old mindset. Why? Because the beauty of a child is the simple-mindedness, the light-heartedness, gratitude, easy fascination, eagerness, and endless perseverance. And everything in our lives should be as exciting as a room full of Unicorns.
We should keep our room (our lives) full of Unicorns (Positive, feel-good things-- Happiness!!!) at all times. Because that is all that really matters; the fun Happy things. We should appreciate and be grateful for all the Unicorns in all their various forms; some like to fly, some like to prance around; some are a bit prickly around the edges, others are fluffy and colourful; some are grumpy, others happy… you get the idea ;). These Unicorns represent all the things in our lives around us that could be Positive--even if their outward appearance may sometimes be unfamiliar or intimidating-- and all the opportunities and things that we could be using to enrich our lives and make them a happier place. Such as a room full of Unicorns and rainbows. ;)
The other problem that we have as adults is that we often fail to see the Unicorns. Our lives are often filled with Unicorns, boundless prancing magical things, but we fail to notice this. Well, let me tell you, a four-year-old would Not miss a room full of Unicorns, and neither should you! The second problem is that sometimes we see the Unicorns but don't do anything with them. We don't Use the Unicorns to our benefit, even when it is right in front of us. Well, again, a child would not just sit there facing a fluffy pink Unicorn and do nothing. By god, that child would run full force and wrap their little arms around that magical creature and give it a great big hug! That child would play all day with that Unicorn and love every second of it. So why don't we? Yes, sometimes new things (especially if it's a new looking Unicorn, maybe it's green instead of it's usual pink or white hue) can be intimidating. We aren't certain how to approach it, if it might nibble our fingers, if it's friendly, or what it has to offer. But we'll never know until we just go for it, uninhibited and eager. So be thankful for the Unicorns around us, use them when you see them, and enjoy every second.

If you're not keeping up with my outrageous metaphors, yes, I'm still talking about life. ;) Life has many opportunities right in front of our eyes but we don't take the leap and risk of just going for it. So the next time you are faced with an opportunity or thing that could be used to your benefit but feel intimidated, doubtful, or uncertain… picture a fluffy pink Unicorn (or whatever your favourite Unicorn might be) and think of yourself as an eager child grateful for that fluffy Unicorn.

Really, the Unicorn symbolizes so much more than I can put into words. It's the magic in our lives. It's the childish fascination with the world. It's the joys and the smiles. It's the opportunities and gains. It's excitement and adventure. It's the part of us we leave behind. It's the part of us that we get to rediscover to enrich our lives.
So choose to have, to see, and to be grateful for all the Unicorns in your life. Always. And keep your life full of Unicorns!

☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

Monday Monday Monday!!! Woooo Woooo! Let's hop on the Happy Train! ;)

Being uncomfortable means you’re growing! Even as a child, we didn't like growing pains, and here we are as adults still resisting changes within us. We usually feel discomfort when we're growing, but remember that these changes are good! It’s on the edge of discomfort where we discover ourselves and become open to the challenges of the world. It's where we step out of those comfort zones to embrace a new part of ourselves that will enrich our lives and our selves.
Have a Good Laugh! At least once a day! Laughter is the best medicine and a key in maintaining Happiness. :)
Know what you're standing for… there is this huge surge of interest for the "KONY 2012" campaign by Invisible Children, but do you actually know what it is you're supporting? This goes for anything! If you're donating money to cancer research, do you actually know where that money is going to? When you donate money to anything, know what it is you are supporting instead of following blindly. Education is key and the internet is a beautiful source for information.
"It is proper to doubt.Do not be led by holy scriptures, or by mere logic or inference, or by appearances, or by the authority of religious teachers. But when you realize that something is unwholesome and bad for you, give it up. And when you realize that something is wholesome and good for you, do it." -- The Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama).
Every one is a student and every one is a teacher… remember that everyone has something to teach us, whether it's by leading by example or learning from someone else's "mistakes." Never be condescending or think that you have nothing to learn from another person. There is always something to teach and always something to learn. We are all teachers and we are all students.
The Universe will give you what you Need… The Law of Attraction teaches us to use the Universe as our personal grocery lists; ask and you shall receive--so long as you believe. However, if some things seem hard to manifest, keep in mind that it may be because what you're asking for is not in line with your true self. The Universe knows what you need and will give that to you when the time is right. I'm sure you've noticed how certain significant things happen in your life that lead you to certain moments and if things had gone differently then your life would not be the same. Keep manifesting, but above all, ask the Universe to deliver to you what you Need.
Fill your Life full of Unicorns! Yes, you heard me, Unicorns. Unicorns are happy creatures that represent all the goodness that we want to experience and have in our lives. So be a four-year-old and love the simplicity of Unicorns. (more on this in an Inspirational Article this week ).

Have a beautiful day, week, life! Much Love from me to you!
Create a Nice Day! xo
